The vehicle carries 4,000 l of water and 200 l as extinguishing agents, which are emitted via one manual and one pneumatic pressurized outlet, or via two quick attack reels with 60 m hoses located in the rear equipment storage compartments. The LCS 2.0 (Logic Control System) also remotely starts the contour and surrounding area lighting, and the generator. The extinguishing technology consists of an NH35 pump in combination with a two-step FIXMIX foam proportioning system, both of which are operated via the LCS 2.0 display controls. The content level in the tank is shown on the outside of the vehicle and underneath there is an external power supply socket with automatic plug ejection when the vehicle starts to move.Įxtinguishing technology with LCS controls The Interschutz vehicle, which after the fair will be delivered to Chile’s Fire Service Association, is also fitted with two swing-out, limber reels and a manual lowering device for the roof ladders.Īll the lighting in the AT on the Commander, from the flashing lights on the front of the vehicle to the traffic warning device at the rear, employs LEDs. The AT superstructure sits directly behind the Commander cab and is fitted with three manually operated shutters on each side of the vehicle, as well as a smoke-colored acrylic tailgate. The air conditioning cools and heats with a capacity of 1,800 m3/h (67,000 BTU) and has sufficient dimensions for operations in the desert.īehind the crew cabin door there is storage space for long items of equipment that extends from one side to the other, and the cabin can be tilted forward electrically using remote control for maintenance and servicing purposes. It is also equally safe, having been subjected to ECE R29 crash testing, and comfortable with seats fitted with safety belts and an intercom system, as well as lateral airbags on request. The largest of the Commander cabs can accommodate as many as ten occupants and like the AT cab is illuminated with LEDs. The Commander cabin is built in a number of sizes and variations, including a high roof version that will be on show at the Interschutz. ABS support, servo-steering and traction control are standard features. The top quality chassis components used in the Commander, such as Hendrickson front wheel suspension, Bilstein shock abosrbers, Allison automatic transmission and 17” disk brakes also ensure optimum handling characteristics. The other bodywork parts, and in particular the cabin, are manufactured using aluminum. The frame construction consists of high-strength, powder-coated or hot galvanized steel sections with reinforced lateral supports under the engine block, which guarantees maximum torque resistance and corrosion protection. The chassis was designed specifically for fire service operations and above all stands out due to its robustness and modern driving comfort. The Commander is the custom chassis from Rosenbauer and more than a thousand have already been ordered. In fact, the AT on the Commander has everything that distinguishes a top class, state-of-the-art fire truck and as will be clearly evident at the Interschutz, this package is wrapped up in a superb design. The chassis comes from Rosenbauer Motors in Wyoming, MN, the superstructure from the European premium class AT (Advanced Technology) vehicle series and the extinguishing technology from Works I in Leonding. Namely, the complete municipal fire truck from the Rosenbauer Group, which is produced on a one-stop-shopping basis and offers features coordinated to perfection. What has been used successfully by the US fire services for the past three years can now be seen for the first time in Europe.
